AWOL Updates

This site will list all AWOL’s, which adhere to time tested Best Practices. By listing on this site you agree to those practices.

The AWOL commitments contain more information; the following is a list of the bare minimum:

  • Tradition Ten “Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the FA name ought to never be drawn into public controversy.” Having an opinion on health choices, or medications is an outside issue. Therefore this site will only list medication neutral AWOLs.
  • Abstinence according to the FA definition. Milk in tea or coffee is not allowed. Specific substances not allowed include: alcohol, marijuana, sugar, flour, caffeine, and nicotine.
  • SPONSORS: You are required to have a sponsor who is an FA member.
  • MEETINGS: If you miss two AWOL meetings in a row you cannot return. There are no exceptions to this rule. You may belong to only one AWOL at a time. The only exception is that you may belong to this AWOL and co-lead another AWOL.
